La Mission brings to you 40 plus years of Mexican Food Tradition, starting with my Grandmother, Mary Madrid, and the Sunshine Cafe in Rocky Ford, Colorado in the late 1950’s. Later my Grandfather, Joe Masias founded the Mission Bell Inn restaurants in Colorado Springs. La Mission is built on a tamale foundation: One Tamale at a Time! Our food is homemade and handmade, the old fashioned way, from scratch using tried and true family recipes and methods. WE SERVE OUR FOOD FRESH, RIGHT WHEN YOU ORDER IT. Our SPECIALTY IS GREEN CHILI. We cook Green Chili for you like we cook it for our family; the homestyle way, using fire roasted chili that is grown in the Arkansas Valley and served either, mild, medium or hot according to your tastes. “I was more than pleased with my experience at La Mission. First of all, the server we had was not only attentive and pleasant, but he seemed to anticipate our needs before we could even ask him. His quality of service far superseded expectations and would have fit in well in any 5 star resort. He really showed that he takes pride and enjoyment in his job. I have to assume this is somewhat reflective of the environment of the restaurant. Secondly, the quality of the food exceeded my expectations even more-so. I ordered the Grilled Steak Burrito with the assumption the steak would be the usual slightly tough, B or C quality meat that you find just about anywhere. Not this meat, it was more tender than any steak I have had in a very long while, let alone meat relegated to the typical burrito. The marinade was just right, neither overbearing nor bland. The squash stir fry, with corn and onions rounded out the dish very nicely, as well. When you get a chance, I strongly suggest you try this laid-back eatery. I am certain you wont be disappointed.”
